West Carleton Community Support Services
WOCRC launched two community service centres in November in Fitzroy Harbour and Constance Bay.
The centres offer the following services to older adults and adults with a physical disability in West Carleton to help these rural residents remain living independently in their communities:
- Low-cost transportation coordination for rural residents with a K0A, K7S and K2K postal code;
- Meals on Wheels delivery;
- Local volunteer opportunities;
- Home maintenance; and
- Information and referral services.
The Fitzroy Harbour centre is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Bethel-St. Andrew’s United Church (184 Jack Lougheed Way) and the Constance Bay centre is open Mondays and Thursdays at the Constance and Buckham’s Bay Community Centre (262 Len Purcell Dr.).

OESP and LEAP
WOCRC is pleased to assist West Carleton communities with the Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP) and Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) applications.
The OESP helps reduce the monthly electricity bills of low-income customers and the LEAP provides emergency relief on an annual basis to eligible low-income customers who may be experiencing difficulty paying their electricity bill. See if you qualify at HydroOne.com/LEAP or call our lead agency, the United Way of Greater Simcoe County at 1-855-487-5327. If you qualify, please call us at 613-591-3686 to request assistance with the application.
