West Carleton Community Support Services

SERVICE UPDATE – MARCH 2022

Community Support Services provide our community members with grocery and pharmacy delivery services. In addition, we are able to deliver a wide selection of nutritious frozen meals. We will also provide ongoing virtual programming to assist our senior community members to connect with one another and reduce feelings of social isolation. In person programs are being introduced on a gradual basis.

WOCRC has two rural Service Centre locations.

The Fitzroy Harbour centre is located at 184 Jack Lougheed Way inside Bethel-St. Andrew’s United Church.  The Constance Bay centre is located at 262 Len Purcell Drive inside the Constance and Buckham’s Bay Community Centre.  Staff are available at both locations by appointment only by calling 613-591-3686 ext. 327 or ext. 299.

The centres offer the following services to older adults aged 55+ and adults with a disability in West Carleton to help these rural residents remain living independently in their communities:

  • Low-cost transportation coordination for rural residents with a K0A, K7S and K2K postal code;
  • Meals on Wheels delivery (frozen only);
  • Information and referral services;
  • In person social programs like the Community Café;
  • Virtual social groups over the phone and Zoom;
  • Volunteer Opportunities

The Fitzroy Harbour centre is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Bethel-St. Andrew’s United Church (184 Jack Lougheed Way) and the Constance Bay centre is open Mondays and Thursdays at the Constance and Buckham’s Bay Community Centre (262 Len Purcell Dr.).
